3 creative DIY ways you can reuse your InquiBox

Learn a creative DIY activity along with some easy ways to reuse your InquiBox.  For these activities you will need to ensure your InquiBox is empty and that the box is ready to be painted however you like. 

Remember, it is important to reuse your resources as an important part of sustainability. This is because it reduces the negative human impact on the environment and the pressure on natural resources. Lastly, it can be a fun challenge to get creative and make the most out of your household items.


Make a marble maze

Learn how you can reuse your Inquibox to create this fun maze to challenge friends and family. Get creative with your designs and patterns!

Materials:

  • Empty InquiBox
  • Paint (optional)
  • Straws
  • Wooden bits like small wooden beads and mini blocks. (You may even use dry pasta pieces). 
  • Hot glue gun (a low temp one is great for kids)
  • Scissor
  • Pencil

Instructions:

  1. Paint your box if you would like. 
  2. Draw out a maze in pencil.
  3. Ask a parent/gaurdian to cut out straws and hot glue onto their penciled maze.
  4. Use your wooden bits, beads, or mini wooden spools to act as stoppers.
  5. Finally to play, use a wooden bead or marble and drive it around your newly constructed maze.

Make a stationery holder

This fun stationery holder is a creative way to store your stationery clutter in a compact manner. Plus you get to reuse your InquiBox and old toilet rolls for some added sustainable practises.

Materials:

  • An empty InquiBox 
  • Toilet paper tubes/rolls (6-12)
  • Scissor 
  • Paint and markers (optional)
  • Glue or tape (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Take an empty InquiBox and decorate it using paint and markers (optional).
  2. Once the box is dry, gather some toilet paper rolls/tubes (6-12) and ensure that it is cut to the height of the box.
  3. Stick each tube together so that they are aligned and standing upright.The more tubes, the more snug they will fit together, and there will be no need to hold them in place with glue.
  4. If you do not have enough tubes, you may glue them on the rim or tape them in place.
  5. Once you are happy with how the tubes are looking, you may then paint and decorate them however you like (optional).
  6. Once they are dried, place the tubes exactly how you arranged them earlier.
  7. You can now begin filling them up with stationary.

Chalkboard Painted Box Base

Get your hands messy with these easy to make chalkboards.

Materials

  • InquiBox ( cut the bottom half/ top half to create a flat base
  • Chalkboard paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Chalk
  • Decoupage (optional) 

Instructions:

  1. Use the InquiBox base (top or bottom). You may need to cut it using a scissor.
  2. Paint those tops with a few coats of chalkboard paint as per directions.
  3. Write out your sayings with chalk……. and you are done!
    Tip:  To make the box base a little more sturdy for hanging, apply several coats of decoupage on the inside of the box lids.
